White Hart Lane
Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool supporters will be keeping a keen eye on Saturday’s results as, yet again, a number of top eight sides face off against one another in a weekend that could see the top of the league really take shape as the festive intensity builds. 3 points and four league positions separate the sides – Spurs trail, with a much inferior goal difference, but are a point better off than at this stage last season. Andre Villas Boas, if not under pressure, is the subject of much tension around White Hart Lane – his side enter the game having collected 7 points from their last five matches but his low-scoring Spurs will be buoyed by Roberto Soldado’s European hat-trick. Brendan Rodgers’ side have taken 10 points from their last five, responding to the defeat in Hull with successive home victories, and Luis Suarez is currently in the form of his life having netted nine times in his last five matches. Top-four points are guaranteed to be dropped in Saturday’s early kick-off between Manchester City and Arsenal, and both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool will be determined to capitalise and assert their European credentials.
